Workshop on codes of conduct

GODAN, CTA and KTBL organized a workshop on ”Legal and Policy aspects of Open Data in Agriculture affecting farmers” on 25-26 July, 2109 in Darmstadt, Germany.
The event was a follow-up of the GFAR/GODAN/CTA Expert Consultation held in Bonn in July 2018 and focused on one of the topics discussed during that meeting: codes of conduct for farm data management.

Chris Addison (CTA) and I presented the work done so far on codes of conduct and the rationale behind it. Other participants from farmers' organizations, research, international organizations and governments shared their experiences and perspectives.

The core of the workshop was a group discussion exercise in which participants were grouped around different stakeholder's perspectives (farmers, research, goverment) and identified the most important concerns that codes of conduct have to address for that specific group.
