Moderating the GODAN open data panel session at GFIA Africa
At GFIA Africa, in Durban, I had the pleasure of moderating the panel session on open data organised by GODAN (with GFAR and CTA): the session explored challenges and opportunities of open data for agricultural innovation as seen by different actors in the open data value chain.
The session was introduced by Andre Laperriere, Executive Director of GODAN. The panelists were:
-
Gracian Chimwaza, Executive Director, Information Training and Outreach Centre for Africa (ITOCA)
-
Dr Summer Allen, Research Coordinator, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)
-
Fatma Ben Rejeb, CEO, Pan-African Farmers’ Organization (PAFO)
-
Ednah Karamagi, Executive Director, Busoga Rural Open Source and Development Initiative (BROSDI)
- Winnie Kamau, Data Journalist, Association of Freelance Journalists
A very good summary of the session is provided by Ana Brandusescu (GODAN) here.
